This was a fantastic place to stay. Great beach, fantastic views, excellent food, and service that goes beyond expectation. Totally disagree with negative comments. I am Canadian, was not asked to write this, and have travelled widely. GREAT value for money!!

It's my fourth stay at the resort and amused to see the place is still maintained very well. The property is full of different varieties of plants and they keep on adding new. The staff is very friendly, food is great and a peaceful stay is guaranteed. Will definitely come back soon. Thank you!

I am pleased to share my recent travel and medical treatment experience. The (Thapovan hotel) offers a fabulous massage therapies. I had an incredible experience with one of the masseurs in the Beauty salon of the hotel, his name is Biju. He is one of the best professionals there is, who does an amazing recovering massage therapy! Before I received the above mentioned medical massage therapy, I used to experience a terrible, annoying pain of the right leg practically all the time. The level of pain in my leg was incredibly high, so I had to gave myself a shot of pain reducing medication twice during my flight to India. Right after the treatment I’ve received from Biju, I can honestly say that I am fully physically recovered and no longer experiencing any pain at all. Biju’s massage was of the legs, hips, hand and face. Moreover, Biju not only helped to get rid of the constantly going pain but, also helped to get rid of the cellulite within only few therapy sessions. That was a wonderful experience that I had with Biju and now I feel myself as a healthy and young person again, thanks to him. No doubts that Biju is highly recommended professional! As for me, I will definitely come back to the Thapovan hitel for a massage therapy of Biju that had such a great affect on me again, and I highly recommend it to everyone who wants to be fully recovered from any severe pain, muscle sore and muscle tension or just simply take a break and receive an incredible relaxation therapy from a busy daily routine.

23/06/2018 I booked a cottage called hide out which is near by see as per the booking portal..... but when at the time of check in hotel staff told me they closed the beach side property which is having all the cottages on request of government, because a port is building over there...so allotted a room for me 1 km away from beach side in there another property..... it was a dull room..... so i thought its ok, may be because of goibibo website i got it wrong by booking beach side cottage...... but when the time of check out i came to know from some hotel boys that they prefer not giving this sea side property to customers saying some lame excused and the sea side property is still active....... it was very discusting from the side of hotel that they didnot give me the room i booked...... any way dont go here onwards......no sea, no beach nothing, every thing is taken over by adani company........ please beware,,,,dont book seeing pics

Thapovan is a tastefully built resort with heritage cottages and hideaway rooms with ample greenery offering an amazing view of the vizhinjam port n sea. It is quaint Picturesque resort with an in house restaurant ideal for travellers looking for places to stay away from the hustle n bustle of kovalam. Thapovan is not in kovalam but at walking distance to vizhinjam port, while the work n port development is a downer, however thapovan location is at a safe distance away from port for travellers to enjoy the quaint ambience and the view of Indian ocean. Ideal place for couples and solo travellers. Hideaway rooms as they are called are overlooking thick foliage and very private, while the heritage n non ac cottages are grouped together . Overall it was value for money for what thapovan offers to travellers in terms of the location, ambience and experience.
